Puri: The Puri Police have issued a traffic advisory for the world-famous Rath Yatra scheduled to be held on June 27 to ensure the smooth movement of chariots and devotees during the nine-day festival.
With heightened security measures in place, several senior IPS officers will oversee the arrangements, guaranteeing a safe and secure experience for all.
Advisory For Four-Wheelers & Light Motor Vehicles:
Vehicles approaching from the Brahmagiri side will be allowed to proceed up to the parking areas on the Sterling side via Mangalaghat and Sterling Chhaka. Once you reach the Sterling area, parking facilities will be available in a designated sequence at the following locations:
Sterling Chhaka roadside, Sterling Chhaka right side, Sterling Chhaka left side, and Saha College parking. Please follow the directions provided by traffic personnel to ensure a smooth parking experience.
For vehicles coming from the Bhubaneswar side, access will be granted up to the parking areas on the Talabania side via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar, and Grid Station. Upon reaching the Talabania area, you can park your vehicles in the following designated spots in sequence:
OLA Guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field parking, and Hygienic Fish Market parking. If these parking areas reach full capacity, vehicles will be redirected to the Sterling side parking areas via Malatipatapur, Batagaon, Mangalaghat, and Sterling.
Once the Talabania side parking places are full, light motor vehicles will be diverted towards the Sterling side parking places via Malatipatapur, Batagaon, Mangalaghat, and Sterling.
As per the advisory, Light Motor Vehicles from Konark side will be allowed up to parking places at Talabania side via Balighai, Baidas Nagar and Grid Station. They will park their vehicles as per sequence likely OLA guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field Parking and Hygienic Fish Market.
Traffic Advisory for Two-Wheelers
Two-wheelers approaching from the Brahmagiri side will be allowed to proceed up to the Old Jagannath Ballav parking area on a first-come, first-served basis. Once this area reaches capacity, additional parking will be available at the Matitota Helipad ground and Matitota Playground parking via Mangalaghat. Vehicles parked in these areas will return via Mangalaghat.
For two-wheelers coming from the Bhubaneswar side, access will be granted up to the Old Jagannath Ballav parking area on a first-come, first-served basis. After this area is filled, parking will be available at the Matitota Helipad ground and Matitota Play Ground parking via Malatipatapur, Batagaon, and Mangalaghat. Vehicles parked at Old JBPC will return via Jatiababaji Chhaka, Kumbharapada PS, Atharanala, and Batagaon.
Two-wheelers from the Konark side will be directed to the Blue Flag Beach and Hotel Neelachal Ashok parking area via Baidas Nagar, Grid Station, Helipad, Pethakata Chhaka, CT Road, and Subash Bose Chhaka. These vehicles will return via the same route. Note that the ROB road from Baidas Nagar Chhak will not be accessible for two-wheelers.
Traffic Advisory for Tourist Buses
Tourist buses approaching from different directions will be directed to designated parking areas. Buses coming from the Brahmagiri side will proceed to the Flourish India parking area and return via the same route.
Similarly, tourist buses from the Bhubaneswar side will be allowed to go up to the Malatipatapur parking area, with their return journey also following the same route.
For buses arriving from the Konark side, they will be directed to the Swami Narayan Temple parking area and will return via the same route.
Shuttle Service for Three-Wheelers
The shuttle service for three-wheelers will operate on designated routes to facilitate the movement of passengers.
Three-wheelers coming from Talabania will proceed to Ghoda Bazar via Water Works Road, Odisha Bakery, and Ram Mandir. After dropping off passengers, they will return to Talabania via Ram Mandir, Shreekhetra Colony, and Mangala Mandir.
Three-wheelers approaching from Malatipatpur side will be allowed up to Atharanala via Batagaon Chhaka. After dropping off passengers, they will return via the same route.
Three-wheelers from the Brahmagiri Side will be permitted up to Sterling via Mangalaghat. After dropping off passengers, they will return to their starting point via the same route.
