Puri: A high-level expert team led by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) conducted the laser scanning of the inner and outer sides of the Srimandir Ratna Bhandar on Wednesday as part of the inspection for repair works. The team used laser scanners to assess the condition of the structure. The exercise took over four hours.

The inspection, which lasted from 1 pm to 5 pm, included measurements, laser scanning, and physical inspections. According to Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), a radar survey will be conducted next, and the report will be presented to the Odisha government. Repair works will commence only after receiving the comprehensive report.
Ratna Bhandar Committee Chairman Justice Biswanath Rath said that the NGRI team will conduct GPR survey soon. all the inspections have been videographed. GPRS survey machine will be pressing into service. “We have requested the team to complete the entire inspection process by September 25. The structural inspection has been started to find out the condition of the inner treasury. The inspection process has been started on the basis of the SOP prepared by State government”, he added
ASI Additional Director General Janhwij Sharma stated that the NGRI team will revisit the treasury for ground-penetrating survey work. He noted that the inspection is incomplete and it requires further analysis and ground survey work, he added.
