Bhubaneswar: The high-level committee on Ratna Bhandar will meet again on July 9 during which a decision on the opening of the treasure trove of the Shree Jagannath Temple will be taken.
It was informed by the Committee chairman Justice Biswanath Rath. The committee was recently constituted by the Odisha government to supervise the reopening of Ratna Bhandar.
Speaking to reporters, Justice Rath said the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will produce the duplicate keys of the Ratna Bhandar before the committee in the meeting on July 9. The keys will be used to open the lock. If it doesn’t open, the lock would be broken.
The committee will issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in this regard, which will be presented to the government.
Justice Rath further said that valuables may be shifted elsewhere for the inventory as the inner parts of the Ranta Bhandar will be repaired. The place to which the valuables are to be shifted will be decided by the temple managing committee.
Another Committee will be formed to prepare the modalities for the inventory of valuables. Last time, the inventory exercise had taken more than 70 days. But this time, it is expected to be completed much early due to the availability of advanced technology.
He said that the shifting of ornaments and repair works should be completed before the deities return to the shrine.
