Bhubaneswar: In view of Makar Sankranti and other important rituals of Lord Jagannath, the repair work of Ratna Bhandar will be temporarily halted from January 12 to 15.
The work will resume on January 16 as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SoP) laid down by the state government and protocol of the temple administration.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, has sought cooperation from all in this regard.
The repair work of the temple treasure trove has been continuing since December 17, 2024. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which is undertaking the repair of the Ratna Bhandar, has set a target to complete the process within three months.
After remaining closed for 46 years, the revered treasury of the 12th-century shrine was reopened in July last year for an inventory of valuables and the repair of its structure.
