Kataka: The unrest at Ravenshaw University over the alleged teacher-MLA spat and the warden transfer issue continues to escalate.
Amid the standoff, the Ravenshaw University Teachers’ Association (RUTA) launched a mass leave agitation at 10 AM today and staged a dharna in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The protest will continue till 5 PM.
According to RUTA, the decision was taken after the Vice-Chancellor allegedly failed to issue any clarification on external interference on the campus, did not act on their demands, and refused to meet the association’s delegation.
RUTA spokesperson Professor Netaji Abhinandan said, “The Vice-Chancellor has not issued any statement regarding outside interference in the campus, has taken no decision on RUTA’s demands and, most unfortunately, has refused to meet our delegation. Hence, we have decided to go on mass leave today and stage a dharna before the VC office.”
