Bhubaneswar: A YouTuber couple have been fined Rs 11,000 for reckless driving while shooting a social media reel in the Reirakhol area of Sambalpur. The video, which showed the woman driving the car while sitting on her husband’s lap, went viral on social media, prompting the Transport department to take action.

The couple, Aswini Sahoo and his wife Lelabati Pradhan are active on doing reels on social media.

The Sambalpur Regional Transport Office (RTO) issued an e-challan of Rs 11,000 to the couple for violating the Motor Vehicles Act. Notably, their minor child was also present in the vehicle during the incident.

The couple has admitted to their mistake and promised to refrain from such activities in the future. They have also appealed to their followers and the public to obey traffic rules and Motor Vehicle regulations.

“We have committed a mistake, but we would never repeat such a thing. I also request others to refrain from such video shooting,” Leelabati Pradhan said.
