Bhubaneswar: Authorities at AIIMS Bhubaneswar have reported a marginal improvement in the health condition of celebrated Ollywood music composer Abhijit Majumdar.
The musician, who was critically ill and on ventilator support for several weeks, has now been taken off the ventilator. He has been shifted from the ICU to the general medicine ward, where he is continuing treatment.
Hospital sources said Abhijit Majumdar is now opening his eyes and showing minor movements in other parts of his body, which doctors are treating as positive signs.
The 48-year-old music director has been undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar for a serious liver ailment since September 4 this year. He was earlier admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar before being shifted to AIIMS when his condition deteriorated.
Fans, well-wishers, and the entire Odia film industry have been praying for his speedy recovery. Further updates on his health are awaited from the treating doctors.
