Bhubaneswar: A Special Vigilance Court in Berhampur awarded three years rigorous imprisonment (RI) to retired Revenue Inspector of Gosaninuagaon RI Circle under Berhampur Tahasil in Ganjam district Sudarsan Panda after convicting him for possessing disproportionate assets (DA).
Panda was also fined Rs 25,000 by the court.
Earlier, Panda was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988.
Following Panda’s conviction, the Vigilance Department announced plans to move the competent authority to stop his pension.
