Bhubaneswar: A Vigilance Court in Bhubaneswar on Friday sentenced retired Sub Collector of Jharsuguda Pradeep Kumar Barik to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for two years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh after convicting him for possession of disproportionate assets (DA), said an official press release.
Earlier, Barik was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance under section 13(2) read with 13(1)(e) PC Act, 199s/109 IPC for possession of disproportionate assets (DA).
Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Barik following his conviction, the release added.
