Bhubaneswar: Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, after assuming charge on Monday, reviewed the programmes of the department and said that the revenue administration should be transparent and accountable to the public.
So it’s up to everyone to bring this process closer to the public and sincere effort is required, Pujari added.
Emphasizing solving the problems of the displaced people of the submerged areas of the Hirakud reservoir, Minister Pujari directed to complete the work of final compensation, grant of permanent pattas, and grant of housing and agricultural land within the specified time frame.
Now the water level of Hirakud reservoir has decreased from 632 feet to 630 feet, so the water level of some submerged areas has decreased. Minister Pujari advised the department to take steps to grant permanent pattas of lands in these areas. Pujari emphasized on rehabilitation of displaced persons of Rengali Dam project and subsequent irrigation projects.
He further emphasized on reclaiming unused land held by Orient Paper Mills and other industries in Brajrajnagar for setting up industries. He said that the Revenue Department should be quick in this direction.
Minister Pujari emphasized on issuance of domicile, caste and other certificates within the specified time frame. He suggested that from Tahasildar to the Board of Revenue Member should settle the revenue cases on time.
Minister Pujari directed to give priority to expediting the process of renaming Khatian in the name of heirs after the death of the landholder.
Minister Pujari emphasized on training the youth of the region to assist the administration of the particular region facing various natural calamities and prepare them to be partners in times of calamity.
Pujari directed to resolve the discrepancies in land for railway extension in Bargarh and Angul districts.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Department Satyabrat Sahu informed about the various programmes of the Department and its progress. He said that the 100-day programme targeted by the department has been taken up.
These include fixing of market rates of Government and forest land, a new survey for the inclusion of more beneficiaries under Vasundhara Yojana by relaxing annual income during the survey, opening of 15 new ex-officio registration offices, implementation of smart surveillance system in all registration offices.
Senior officials of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department were present in this review meeting.
