Sundargarh/Bolangir: In a tragic turn of events, two separate road accidents in the Sundargarh and Bolangir districts have claimed one life and left six others critically injured.
In the first incident, a bike rider was killed in a hit-and-run case on the Biju Expressway near Kutra Gramadevata temple under Kutra police limits in Sundargarh district in the early hours of Friday. The victim, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was heading towards Rajgangpur when an unknown vehicle hit his bike, killing him on the very spot. Upon being informed, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
In another incident, a head-on collision between a Bolero and a truck on NH 26 near Titlagarh square has six four people critically injured. The injured have been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital. The condition of one of the injured is stated to be critical.
When they met with the mishap, All the victims of Chhattisgarh were on their way to Hirakud via Bolero. The truck driver is reported to have fled the scene after the accident.
On a tip-off, police have started a manhunt to arrest the truck driver.
