Rough Sea Ahead: IMD Advises Fishermen To Stay Ashore Till Sept 28

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for fishermen in Odisha, advising them not to venture into the North and Central Bay of Bengal and along the Odisha coast from September 25 to 28, 2025.

According to IMD, a squally weather system is expected to prevail in the region, with wind speeds reaching 35-45 kmph, gusting to 55 kmph on September 25, and 40-50 kmph, gusting to 60 kmph from September 26-28. The sea condition is expected to be rough to very rough during this period.

Fishermen who are already out at sea are advised to return to the coast by today evening.
