Bhubaneswar: Seema Meher, a member of the Maa Gajalakshmi Self Help Group from Sambalpur district, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing the third position in the Handloom Stall category at the SARAS Aajeevika Mela-2025 held in New Delhi. The event took place from September 5 to September 22, 2025.

Deputy Chief Minister Parvati Parida extended her congratulations to Seema Meher and the entire team, including the Mission Shakti Department, Odisha Livelihood Mission, Handlooms and Textiles Department, and Sambalpur District Administration, for this national-level achievement.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Odisha showcased its rich craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit at the National Saras Mela, with seven stalls representing the state.

These stalls featured a diverse range of products, including handlooms, handicrafts, paintings, dairy products, packaged food, and live food. The self-help groups successfully sold 4,860 products, generating a turnover of over ₹15 lakhs. This achievement highlights the state’s commitment to empowering women and promoting local industries through initiatives like Mission Shakti and Odisha Livelihood Mission.
