Bhubaneswar: Eminent sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a stunning sand art in Puri to greet the Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon 2026, which is making its way through the city.

The cyclothon, flagged off on January 28, will cover India’s east and west coasts till February 22, promoting maritime security and engaging coastal communities in protecting the shores. The event marked a significant milestone in the 26-day-long cyclothon being organized as part of the commemoration of 150 years of “Vande Mataram”, which will conclude on February 22, 2026.

Taking to his X handle, Pattnaik wrote: ““The Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon 2026, flagged off on the 28th of Jan, taking us across India’s east and west coasts till the 22nd of February, is riding through Puri today.  Like last time, created a sand art to welcome them and appreciate @CISFHQrs remarkable initiative, to promote maritime security, and also engage our coastal communities in protecting our shores. I wish all the participating CISF officers the very best for the spectacular job I know they’ll do — all while celebrating 150 years of our National Song. Vande Mataram and Jai Hind.”

Pattnaik’s sand art beautifully portrays the cyclothon’s theme and conveys important messages on maritime security, community engagement, and national pride. Through the sand art, Pattnaik wished the participating CISF officers the best for their remarkable initiative, saying ‘Jai Hind’.

The sand art has garnered attention on social media, with many praising Pattnaik’s creativity and the CISF’s efforts to promote maritime security.
