Puri: Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik paid a heartfelt tribute to nurses across the world on the occasion of International Nurses Day.
In his message, Pattnaik remembered Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, and saluted the selfless service and dedication of nurses.
“On #InternationalNursesDay, a heartfelt tribute to #FlorenceNightingale — the founder of modern nursing. Let us salute all nurses for their humongous efforts and selfless service to mankind. Their dedication, compassion, and care continue to inspire the world every day. I am sharing one of my SandArt creations as a mark of respect and gratitude” read his post.
Notably, International Nurses Day is observed every year on May 12 to mark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale and to honour the invaluable contribution of nurses in healthcare. Nursing is a job that demands skill, compassion, and constant focus. However, the job often also demands something unsustainable: relentless hours. Many nurses work 12-hour shifts that easily stretch longer because of staff shortages, emergency admissions, delayed handovers, and endless documentation.
