Bhubaneswar: All schools and Anganwadi centres will remain closed on Wednesday in Baragada, Sundaragada and Debagada districts due to heavy rain and the prevailing weather conditions.
In Sundargarh, the district administration has also announced closure of all colleges in addition to schools and Anganwadis as a precautionary measure for student safety.
Earlier in the day, district administrations of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Jajpur and Kendujhar had announced complete closure of all schools in their districts in view of incessant rainfall and IMD warnings.
The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state over the next 24 hours. District authorities have urged parents and students to stay indoors and follow official advisories.
