SEC Announces By-Election Date For Panchayat Samiti Chairman & Vice-Chairman Posts

Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) has announced the date for by-elections to fill vacant chairman and vice-chairman posts in several Panchayat Samitis across Odisha.

The by-polls will take place on August 22, 2024, from 12: 30 pm to 2: 00 pm, according to the notification released by SEC.

A total of seven posts are lying vacant, including six chairman positions and one vice-chairman position. The chairman posts at Kabisuryanagar, Khallikote, and Kukudahandi in Ganjam district, Narla in Kalahandi district, Raighar in Nabarangpur district and Bhapur in Nayagarh district are lying vacant.

Moreover, the vice-chairman post at Harabhanga Panchayat Samiti in Boudh district is also vacant.
