Bhubaneswar: As per the State Election Commission’s order, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will be used in the upcoming elections to the urban local bodies (ULBs).
Two EVMs will be kept in each booth for ULB polls, said an official press release.
The SEC has informed that in the case of municipalities and notified area councils (NACs) one EVM will be kept for electing councillor and another for electing chairperson.
Similarly, in the case of corporations, one EVM will be kept for electing corporator and another for electing mayor.
Accordingly, two different coloured ballot papers will be pasted on the EVMs.
The SEC has informed that for the election of corporator/councillor the colour of the ballot paper to be pasted on the EVM shall be of pink colour and for the election of mayor/chairperson colour of the ballot paper to be pasted on the EVM shall be of yellow colour.
