Bhubaneswar: The second phase of the Budget session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will resume on Tuesday and continue till September 13.
The House will pass the expenditure sanction bill for the financial year 2024-25 on September 10 and discuss the expenditure claims of Scheduled Castes, Tribes and Backward Classes on August 21.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, presented a Rs 2.65 lakh crore Budget proposal in the House for the 2024-25 financial year on July 25.
As per the schedule issued by the Assembly Secretariat, as soon as the House resumes today, there will be a memorial service in honour of former MLA Sundarmohan Majhi. Subsequently, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Ministers of various departments will present various papers and annual reports.
The second half of the Budget session of the Assembly is likely to be stormy with the Opposition planning to corner the government over several issues including the confusion over the Subhadra Yojana, the Polavaram project and alleged non-fulfilment of election promises.
