Koraput: Security personnel on Friday recovered and defused a claymore mine allegedly planted by Maoists near Dumuripadar village, located at a distance of about 5 km from the BSF camp at Dandabadi under Baipariguda block in Koraput district.
According to reports, acting on intelligence reports, that Maoists have planted claymore mines targeting security personnel, BSF and DVF jawans launched a search operation in the Dumuripadar area. A bomb disposal squad from here also joined the operation.
After checking all roads and culverts in and around Dumuripadar, sniffer dogs detected claymore mines planted under two culverts.
Following detection of the claymore mines, those were defused by the bomb disposal squad. BSF and DVF personnel had surrounded the area before defusing the mines.
