Bhubaneswar: In a shocking turn of events, two separate incidents of robbery and burglary took place across Odisha on Saturday, with the miscreants making off with valuables worth lakhs of rupees.
The first incident occurred in the Vedvyas area of Rourkela city, where three masked robbers carried out an armed robbery at a local car showroom. Late at night, the robbers overpowered the security guard, tying his wrists and ankles before threatening him.
They then looted a significant amount of cash from the showroom’s cash box, along with several important documents, as reported by the showroom owner.
Upon receiving a complaint, the local police swiftly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from the showroom captured the robbery, and authorities are currently using this footage to identify and apprehend the suspects.
In a similar incident, a burglary occurred at the Panchamukhi Hanuman Temple in Khapuria Khannagar under Madhupatna Police limits in Cuttack district, late on Friday night.
The burglars broke into the temple and stole a number of valuable items, including a silver headgear (mukuta), a gold mask (mukha), a silver weapon (gada), a silver pot (garah), slippers (kathau), and other precious jewelry.
Following a tip-off, the Madhupatna police rushed to the temple and have since launched an investigation into the burglary.
