Bhubaneswar: A motorcycle rider was killed in a series of accidents involving three vehicles at Bishnupur in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rajkishore Sahu (32), a resident of Uttarbad village under Bhandaripokhari Tehsil in Bhadrak district.
According to reports, an oil tanker moving towards to Bhubaneswar rammed a trailer truck, which then crashed into a parked car on National Highway No 16. Under the impact of the collision, the trailer was pushed into a brick factory. As the trailer veered toward the brick factory, it crashed against a bike rider who was thrown off his vehicle and crushed under the wheels of the trailer resulting in his death.
Soon after, an irate mob blocked the highway and staged a demonstration demanding compensation for the bereaved family. The angry protesters stopped the movement of buses and heavy vehicles on the route.
On being informed, police reached the accident spot and brought the situation under control.
