Baripada: Odisha Forest Department personnel have arrested seven poachers from the Similipal Reserve Forest area in Mayurbhanj district and seized several traditional weapons from their possession.
According to Samrat Gowda, Deputy Director (South) of Similipal Reserve Forest, the seven accused have been arrested for attempting hunting wild animals inside Similipal sanctuary in Jenabil WL Range.
The arrested accused includes Fagu Marandi, Lita Soren, Samay Soren, Kalidas Soren, Balia Soren, Nimay Soren, and Balia Soren. All the accused are inhabitants of Upper Taldiha under Udala police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
The accused have been forwarded to the Court of CJM in Baripada for judicial custody.
