Several Towns In Western Odisha Cross 41°C At 11:30 AM Amid Heatwave

Bhubaneswar: Several towns in Western Odisha recorded temperatures crossing 41°C by 11:30 am on Wednesday, indicating intense heatwave conditions in the region, according to weather scientist Umashankar Das.

Jharsuguda emerged as the hottest location, recording 42.4°C at 11:30 am. Sambalpur and Hirakud both registered 41.0°C during the same period.

Other parts of the state also witnessed rising temperatures. Keonjhar recorded 37.6°C, followed by Rourkela at 37.4°C. Chandbali reported 36.6°C, Balasore 36.2°C, while Bhubaneswar recorded 35.6°C at 11:30 am.

The temperature data was shared by scientist Umashankar Das on his social media platform X.

Amid the rising heat, the scientist urged residents to remain cautious, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours.
