Bhubaneswar: Reinforcing the belief that potential knows no social or economic barriers, Chief Secretary Anu Garg paid a memorable visit to the PM SHRI Balika Seva Ashram School at Nedipadar in Phiringia block of Kandhamal district, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of its tribal girl students.
During her visit on Wednesday, the Chief Secretary interacted closely and warmly with the students, creating an atmosphere of trust and inspiration. She engaged them in classroom activities, taught lessons, and encouraged them to speak about their future aspirations. The interaction revealed the remarkable confidence and ambition of the girls—some expressed dreams of becoming lawyers, others athletes, while many aspired to serve as civil servants and administrative officers.
Despite coming from challenging social and economic backgrounds, the clarity of vision and determination displayed by the students impressed everyone present. Their aspirations stood as a powerful testimony to how guidance and encouragement can shape young minds.
The Chief Secretary also held detailed discussions with the school’s teachers on government initiatives such as Prayas Plus and Jnana Samriddhi, emphasizing the need for focused steps to improve academic quality and learning outcomes. She offered constructive suggestions aimed at strengthening educational delivery and overall performance of the institution.
One of the most touching moments of the visit was when Anu Garg shared the midday meal with the students. The gesture reflected warmth, empathy, and a deep sense of connection, further boosting the morale of the girls.
The District Collector and Sub-Collector of Kandhamal were present during the visit.
The Chief Secretary’s direct engagement—spending time with the students, listening to their dreams, and motivating them—has emerged as a source of inspiration for the young girls. The visit reaffirmed the idea that with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities, children from ordinary circumstances can indeed achieve extraordinary success.
