Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan arrived in Bhubaneswar on a two days State visit for various programme.
The Union minister is scheduled to launch ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan,’ campaign in Puri district on Thursday, followed by an interaction with women farmers at CIFA, Bhubaneswar, starting at 11:30 AM.
At 12:30 PM, he will participate in the Regional Mango Diversity Show at the Central Horticultural Experiment Station. Thereafter, Chouhan will attend a program at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology at 4:00 PM.
During this extensive 15-day campaign, Chouhan will travel to nearly 20 states, motivating farmers and scientists while engaging in direct dialogue with them.
Following the launch in Odisha on Thursday, the minister will visit Jammu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh, interacting with farmers and scientific teams.
The campaign aims to educate farmers about modern technologies for major Kharif crops specific to different regions, raise awareness about beneficial government schemes and policies, guide farmers on using Soil Health Cards for crop selection and balanced fertilizer application, and collect feedback to understand farmer-led innovations and steer research directions accordingly.
