Bhubaneswar: A heart-wrenching incident has shaken the residents of Potala village in Puri district, where the bodies of a 30-year-old man and his 2-year-old son were recovered from a locked room on Saturday. According to police, the incident appears to be a result of a family dispute.
According to reports, Deepak Kumar Pani’s marriage to a woman from a different community had strained his relationship with his family, leading him to live separately. On the day of the incident, his wife had left for her parental home in Kendrapara. The police believe that Deepak first tied his son’s neck with his wife’s cloth and then hanged himself with the same cloth.
Pipili police launched an investigation, and a scientific team from Puri has been deployed to the spot. A case has been registered, and the bodies will be sent for autopsy on Sunday. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
