Showers To Continue In Odisha For Next 5 Days With Heavy To Very Heavy Spells At Places

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the Low Pressure Area over North Odisha & neighbourhood has become less marked.

However, the cyclonic circulation now lies over north Odisha and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal & Jharkhand and extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height, the IMD added.

According to the IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha during the next five days with heavy and heavy to very heavy spells predicted at places.

The IMD has issued ‘Orange’ and ‘Yellow’ alerts.

Here’s IMD’s weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for the next five days:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

ORANGE WARNING:-(BE PREPARED) Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Nawarangapur.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhamal.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 31.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

ORANGE WARNING:-(BE PREPARED) Heavy to very heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kandhamal.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Kalahandi.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

ORANGE WARNING:-(BE PREPARED) Heavy to very heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nuapada, Deogarh, Jharsuguda.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Nayagarh, Ganjam, Nawarangapur.
