Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri has received 1 kg 800 milligram gold as a donation. Ten pieces of gold ingots each weighing approximately 100 gms donated by some unidentified devotee of Lord Jagannath were found in the ‘hundi’ (donation box) placed at the ‘Nata Mandap’ inside the temple premises.
This was informed by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Tuesday. It is the highest quantity of gold received as a donation in the last few years.
