Bhubaneswar: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has decided to implement the Dhadi Darshan system, a queue-based darshan system, in Nata Mandap after the Karttik month.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Chhattisha Nijoga of Shree Jagannath Temple, where the Karttik Brata and Baldhupa rituals were also approved.
As per the decision, the temple doors will be opened from 4 am, and the Dhadi Darshan system will be implemented on a trial basis at Nata Mandap after Karttik. The SJTA has also issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Divyang Darshan and imposed restrictions on the use of mobile phones inside the temple, SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee informed.
A coordination committee will meet every Wednesday to maintain discipline, and guidelines for mobile phone restrictions will be issued soon. The temple administration is also planning to prepare an additional ornament set for the trinities for the Suna Besha.
During the Karttik month, the temple doors will be opened at 4 am every day from October 3 to November 5. Various Beshas, including Radha Damodar Besha, Harihar Besha, Lakshmi Narayan Besha, and others, will be performed during this period.
The SJTA Chief Administrator, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, informed that a request will be made to the state government to hand over the administration of silver ingots found in the Emar Mutt to the temple administration. The Chhatisha Nijoga made a proposal in this regard in the today’s meeting.
