Bhubaneswar: Two siblings were critically injured in a fatal accident as the bike they were travelling in overturned while overtaking a bus near Charichhak-Sitalpani under the Harabhanga police limits in Boudh district on Tuesday.
The victims Rajendra Pradhan (25) and his sister Rojalin Pradhan (21), were residents of Chhatrang village in the Harabhanga tehsil of Boudh district.
According to reports, the siblings were travelling in a bike around 7 am when they attempted to overtake a bus on a sharp turn. Rajendra lost his balance due to the curve and crashed. The impact was severe, throwing Rojalin some distance and causing serious injuries to Rajendra’s face, head, and fingers.
Locals rushed to the scene, rescued the siblings and took them to the Puranakatak Community Health Centre.
Due to the severity of their injuries, both were later transferred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.
Police rushed to the spot following a tip-off and have launched an investigation.
