Siblings Killed In Road Mishap In Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: Two siblings were killed after being hit by a car at Bhatarika Square under Badamba police limits in Cuttack district, on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Santosh Kumar Sahu and his sister Palia Sahu of Banamalipur village.

According to sources, the accident took place when Santosh was going to drop his sister Palia at her in-laws’ house at Chandimangala. Santosh was riding the bike and Palia was on the pillion. A speeding car near Bhatarika Square hit the siblings near Bhatarika Square killing Santosh on the spot.  Palia, who sustained severe injuries, was rushed to Badamba Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

The mishap led to tension in the locality as locals held up traffic. Badamba police pacified the locals and seized the car and bike from the accident site. Besides, police have sent the bodies of siblings for post-mortem.
