Bhubaneswar: Commissioner Police on Friday took accused Raju Mandal into 2-day remand in the SIM Box case. He will be further interrogated to extract more information.
Recently, Raju was taken to Ranchi in Jharkhand after it was revealed that SIM box rackets were also operating in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during the investigation. A team of investigators accompanied Raju to Ranchi.
The Commissioner Police has sought the help of interpol to arrest the mastermind and main accused, Asadur Zaman, a Bangladeshi national, in this connection.
A new twist emerged in the case after Raju Mandal’s arrest recently. Raju’s family filed a missing person complaint with a police station in West Bengal.
After receiving a missing person report, the West Bengal police tracked Raju Mandal’s mobile phone and found his last location at Laxmisagar police station.
The West Bengal police informed the Laxmisagar police station, and after that, Raju’s family members were informed about his arrest. After receiving the news of his arrest, Raju Mandal’s family members, along with their lawyer, reached Laxmisagar police station. The Laxmisagar police provided all the information related to Raju’s arrest to his family members.
