Baripada: The Similipal Tiger Reserve and surrounding areas are experiencing a severe cold wave, with temperatures plummeting to -1°Cat Upper Baraha Kamuda (UBK) Area.
The cold wave has engulfed the foothill regions, including Jashipur, Thakurmunda, Karanjia, Raruan, and Sukruli blocks, with dense fog and chilly winds making life difficult for residents.
According to reports, other areas in the region experienced the chill, with Chahala at 2°C, Barehipani at 5°C, Gurguria at 2°C, Ramatirtha at 9°C, Satkosia at 9°C, and Kiajhari at 10°C.
The Similipal Tiger Reserve authorities have confirmed the temperature readings.
The cold wave has disrupted daily life, with residents struggling to cope with the harsh weather conditions.
