Bhubaneswar: Similipal, the eighth biosphere reserve in India located in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, has opened its gates to tourists from today, ten days ahead of the usual November 1 opening date.
Tourists can now enjoy the tiger reserve through two entry points – Pithabata gate in Baripada and Kaliani gate in Jashipur. The reserve was closed to visitors from 1 July, but has now reopened with new guidelines in place.
As per the new guidelines issued by the department, the first 25 four‑wheeled vehicles will be allowed entry through Pithabata gate, while the first 35 four‑wheeled vehicles will be allowed entry through Kaliani gate.
