Bhubaneswar: The Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) will remain closed on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, due to the influence of Cyclone Montha, which is expected to hit the Andhra Pradesh coast on Tuesday night. The cyclone is predicted to bring heavy rain to the Mayurbhanj district, prompting the authorities to take precautionary measures.

As per the yellow warning issued by the National Disaster Management Authority, the STR authorities have decided to close the reserve to ensure the safety of visitors and wildlife. The management has prioritised caution to avoid any potential risks associated with the adverse weather conditions.

The Similipal Tiger Reserve will resume its operations once the weather conditions improve. Tourists are advised to plan their visits accordingly and check the official website for further updates and information.
