Balasore: The Block Development Officer (BDO) of Simulia in Balasore district was found hanging inside his official residence today.
Details regarding the incident are not immediately known. Police suspected it as a case of suicide.
The officer, Biswaranjan Mohanty had joined as BDO in Simulia block two months ago. He was present in the office at 11 am today. Office staff visited his quarters after he skipped a government event at 3 pm. They found the officer hanging from the ceiling with a towel.
The staff immediately informed the police and other officials who rushed to the spot.
Police with a scientific team and local tehsildar reached the scene and started an investigation.
