Baripada: The Forest Department arrested six individuals for illegally entering the Similipal Tiger Reserve in Mayurbhanj district and hunting a mouse deer.
The arrests were facilitated with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The accused persons have been identified as Budhia Hembram, a resident of Bhupad village; Ratha Singh and Baula Singh, both from Subarnamanjari village; and three others from Nuagaon village—Mithun Hembram, Laxman Soren, and Pradhan Soren—all from the Mayurbhanj district.
The arrested individuals have been sent to the CJM Baripada court for judicial custody.
During the investigation, the authorities seized three handmade guns and a snare from the accused.
