Nabarangpur: A court in Nabarangpur has sentenced six members of a family to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 each for the murder of a minor boy in Nabarangpur district.
Additional District Magistrate Bishnu Prasad Mishra has pronounced the judgment.
The incident occurred on August 9, 2022, in Baramasi village under Kodinga police station.
The accused, identified as Ananta Pujari, Siba Pujari, Chandan Pujari, Dumar Pujari, Dalimba Pujari, and a Child in Conflict with Law (CCL), allegedly assaulted the victim, Dambaru Pujari, and another person, Padlam Pujari, with deadly weapons like swords, kati, iron barcha, and axe. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by doctors at SCBMCH, Cuttack.
The court found the accused guilty of murder and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The case was registered as PS case No. 114 of 2022 at Kodinga Police Station, and the investigation was conducted by the police
