Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) is set to introduce a comprehensive training programme aimed at preventing service disruptions and improving the conduct of temple servitors.
The initiative, scheduled for April 4 and 5 at Niladri Bhakta Nivas, seeks to instill greater discipline among servitors, a move welcomed by devotees.
The training will involve all categories of servitors, officers from Puri Police, and temple employees.
The primary objective is to ensure polite and respectful interaction with devotees, maintain proper conduct during sacred rituals, and strengthen coordination among servitors, especially during major temple events.
Senior servitors and researchers of Jagannath culture will provide insights on preserving the temple’s spiritual sanctity while efficiently managing large crowds during festivals and important religious occasions.
Puri Collector-cum-Deputy Chief Administrator of SJTA, Siddharth Shankar Swain, stated that the training would focus on improving servitors’ interaction with devotees, the qualities they should uphold, and ways to enhance coordination among them.
He added that researchers and senior servitors would contribute valuable perspectives to guide the initiative.
The programme aims to ensure a more organized and enriching experience for devotees while reinforcing discipline and efficiency within the temple’s service structure.
