Bhubaneswar: Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), deemed to be university, has been ranked 14th among the best universities in India, according to the ninth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This is a significant improvement from last year’s ranking of 15th.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the NIRF ranking in the presence of Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar on Sunday in New Delhi.
SOA has also been ranked 24th in the overall category, up from 26th last year. The university has consistently been ranked among the top 25 universities in India since 2016.
In the engineering category, SOA has been ranked 26th, up from 27th last year. In the medical sciences category, it has been ranked 21st, and in the dental sciences category, it has been ranked 9th. In the management sciences category, SOA has been ranked 62nd, and in the research category, it has been ranked 50th.
Two of SOA’s institutions, the Faculty of Law and the Institute of Dental Sciences have been ranked among the top 10 in their respective categories.
That apart, SOA received the highest A++ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2022, and was re-accredited.
SOA’s founder president, Professor (Dr) Manojranjan Nayak, expressed happiness at the achievement and congratulated the faculties, researchers, and staff for their efforts. He encouraged them to continue their hard work to take SOA to even greater heights.
The university’s vice-chancellor, Professor Pradipta Kumar Nanda, thanked everyone for their contributions to SOA’s success and called for continued hard work to achieve the goal of becoming one of the top 10 universities in India within the next five years.
