Son Dies While Making Preparations For Father’s Funeral In Koraput

Koraput: In a tragic incident, a youth died while attending his father’s last rites at Kamta village under Borigumma block in Odisha’s Koraput district on Wednesday.

According to reports, Laxman Mandal, an elderly man from Kamta village, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College Hospital in Koraput around 5.00 am on Wednesday. His body was taken to his village for cremation.

At the crematorium, Benudhar Mandal was making preparations for his father Laxman Mandal when a large tree suddenly fell on him. Benudhar sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to the Borigumma Community Health Center (CHC) where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.

A pall of gloom descended on Kamta village as the news of the deaths of Laxman Mandal and his son Benudhar Mandal spread.
