Bhubaneswar: An all-party meeting is scheduled for today ahead the upcoming Odisha Assembly session. The meeting, convened by Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, aims to ensure a smooth and productive session.
According to reports, the Assembly session is set to begin on September 18 and will run for seven working days, concluding on September 25. During the meeting, the Speaker will hold discussions with leaders of all parties to promote a constructive and respectful dialogue among the members during the session.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling, and other ministers will be present in the meeting. Additionally, the ruling party’s chief whip, the opposition party’s chief whip, and the Congress party leader will also attend the meeting.
Notably, the upcoming monsoon session of the Assembly has allocated one day for Private Member Bills and another day as ‘No Office Day’. Meanwhile, the opposition is preparing to grill the government on several key issues, and in response, the ruling party is gearing up to provide robust defenses and counterarguments.
Ahead of the session, the Chief Secretary has instructed departmental secretaries to provide accurate and timely responses to Assembly questions. They have also been directed to limit travel, prioritizing their availability to address Assembly-related matters.
With these preparations in place, the meeting will focus on ensuring a successful and productive session.
