Puri: E-commerce major Amazon India has landed in trouble after a servitor of Puri Shree Jagannath temple filed a police complaint alleging that the company is illegally selling nirmalya, Khaja Bhoga and Tulsi of Lord Jagannath through online mode.

Khuntia Niyoga servitor Shambhunath Khuntia lodged the complaint at Singhdwara police station.

According to the complaint, Amazon is selling nirmalya, three khajas and tulsi online. While its price is fixed at Rs 1500, it is being sold at Rs 799 as a discounted price.

The servitor alleged that the e-Commerce company is doing such business without the permission of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). He demanded an inquiry and immediate strict action against the company

Earlier, there were allegations of sale of Salagram stone and Mahaprasad in the name of Lord Jagannath through online platform named ‘Utsav’. It has both mobile application and a website. The site also claimed to facilitate online puja at Jagannath temple and home delivery of prasad.
