Bhubaneswar: While .FEST will enthrall the citizens of the capital city during the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 championship, Rourkela, which will also host a number of matches of the championship, will celebrate the event with ‘Rourkela Fest.’
The 9-day ‘Rourkela Fest’ will commence on January 14 and continue till January 22. As many as 25 popular artistes from Bollywood, various regions of Odisha, and the country will entertain the residents of this steel city during the biggest extravaganza here.
Rourkela will host 20 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 matches at the newly constructed Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium from January 13 to January 28. A large number of hockey enthusiasts from as well as outside Sundargarh district are expected to visit the city to witness the international sports event. The ‘Rourkela Fest’ will be organised at Melana Ground in Sector-13 to entertain these hockey enthusiasts, an official said.
The ‘Rourkela Fest’ will be organised every day between 4 pm and 11 pm. A number of popular Bollywood stars will perform during the ‘Rourkela Fest’ and ‘Starry Night’, which is scheduled from 7 pm onwards every day, will be the main attraction.
According to the organisers of ‘Rourkela Fest,’ Bollywood actress Disha Patani, singer Sukhwinder Singh, ‘Black Swan’ and ‘Rapper Big Deal’ will perform on the inaugural evening. In addition, several eminent artistes, including Beni Dayal, Prince Dance Group, Ananya Nanda, Lisha Mishra, Ruturaj Mohanty, Sniti Mishra, Harihar Das, and Navya Jaiti will perform at the ‘Rourkela Fest’.
