Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of Steel RCP Singh on Friday inaugurated the two-day ‘Conference with Mines and Industry Ministers’ from States and the Union Ministry at Konark. Addressing the inaugural session, Singh said that policymakers should ensure effective management of resources to benefit the last man in the queue.
The objective of the conference is to ensure better coordination between the State and Central governments and to offer an opportunity for presentation and interaction on matters related to Mining leases, Environment Clearances, Forest Clearances of ongoing and new mining projects.
The State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Rajasthan are participating in the conference, stated reports. The Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development Faggan Singh Kulaste also addressed the Conference on Friday.
Considering the complementary role of state governments in facilitating business, Government will use the opportunity to showcase the Rs 6,322 crore PLI Scheme for Specialty Steel to the participating states.
An interactive session to understand the concerns of Secondary Steel Sector will be held at the event. Senior Officers from Union and State ministries of Steel, Mines and Industries, State and Central Public Sector Undertakings were present during the sessions.
