Bhubaneswar: Steps will be taken to increase the income of farmers of the State by taking advantage of opportunities to export more agricultural products, fish and seafood to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok, informed Odisha Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Fisheries and Animal Resources Ranendra Pratap Swain.
Swain today held a detailed discussion with the representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) from New Delhi and Odisha at the Krushi Bhawan on the export opportunities of agricultural and fish products to these countries.
With the recent operation of direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok opportunity to export agricultural products from Odisha to these countries has increased.
The Minister directed the departmental officers to take appropriate measures to utilize the potential of increasing exports in the interests of the farmers of the state.
Principal Secretary, Department of Fisheries and Animal Resources, Suresh Kumar Vashishth, Director, Agriculture & Food Production Prem Chandra Chaudhary and representatives of CII attended the meeting.
