Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch Special Task Force (STF) has launched a massive crackdown to dismantle an inter-state drug syndicate, with raids continuing across Odisha for the past two days. Acting on government directives, the STF is coordinating with police forces from other states to target networks involved in trafficking marijuana and synthetic drugs.
The operation, led by district Superintendents of Police under the directives of the Director General of Police (DGP) and DGP Crime, has seen plainclothes personnel deployed in markets, shops, and slum areas to track suspects and gather intelligence.
According to the STF SP Ravi Satapathy, the raids are part of a larger special operation that has been underway for the past 15 days. The STF is working in close coordination with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) to curb the growing drug trade in the state.
The enforcement drive aims to choke supply chains and identify the masterminds behind the trafficking network, with officials vowing sustained action until the syndicate is dismantled.
