Baripada: The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested seven persons involved in the ivory smuggling racket. According to reports, the STF carried out a joint raid along with Bisoi police in Rugudi Dihi and Matiali Sahi area under Bishoi police limits and nabbed the smugglers.
It may be noted that a tusker’s body was recovered from the aforementioned area in Similipal forest on January 11. The STF was conducting a special investigation into the incident. The sleuths seized the ivory from the backyard of the home of the accused.
