Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force of Crime Branch has busted an inter-state fake currency racket with the arrest of two persons on Thursday. The STF carried out a raid at an undisclosed location in Barpalli area of Bargarh district which led to the arrest of Pattu Yadav of Gorakhpur and Balaram Meher of Barpalli.
The STF seized counterfeit currency notes with face value of Rs 14,29,500 from their possession. According to the STF, Pattu is an inter-state supplier of fake currency notes, while Meher was his local contact for western Odisha.
“During search, Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) of Rs.14,29,500, and other incriminating articles were recovered from their possession. A case has been registered with Bargarh police for necessary legal action,” the STF stated.
